What is Corrugating Roll?

As we are all knew that corrugating roll is the heart of a single facer and many times the single facer machine can not performe maximal because of the corrugating roll  worn out too soon or incorrect profile type. Most of corrugating roll body is made by forged steel with high carbon content so it can be hardened up to 60 Hrc(european material)and 54Hrc(Asian material) before the corr roll coated with Hard Chrome Plated(67-69Hrc) or Tungsten Carbide( 76 Hrc) and of course the Asian material has lower hardness after coated .

To avoid the corrugating roll worn out before its life time so the following step should be done on your corr roll:

Keep the medium paper  average width at 75% of the corr roll face lenght(flute width).

Turn the corr roll at half of operation working pressure linear, put steam and fresh oil evenly on the surface of corr roll .

Put the medium paper , start frm the wider size to smaller size.this is to avoid glue stick to corr roll at both ends.

Keep the working pressure linier at upper n lower corr roll as low as possible especially when use small size medium paper.

Put oil evenly on the surface of corr roll before the machine totaly stop and continue at next day.

Avoid to use paper with high cilisium content.

To choose the right flute type A,B,C  as now so many choise of A,B or C flute :

Safe paper means that the ECT,BCT will drop, the more paper means the stronger board we got.

With the same flute type if the coating is chromed , take up will be higher than Tungsten Carbide Coated but the Tungsten carbide coated can give stronger board with same flute type with chrome plated.
